The first thing we do in the morning is head over to Kimchi World to learn their much anticipated secret recipe…or so we thought. The kimchi “making” class turned out to be a “rub our proprietary blend of kimchi onto this giant cabbage” and tada! kind of deal. We also made bugolgi chapchae in a similarly no-skilled-required fashion — but it was still a lot of fun and I’m glad we went!
The trees right outside of Kimchi World were a really gorgeous shade of autumn, despite being the end of November.
That night, we finally checked out the hipster part of Gangnam, away from all the Samsung buildings. For those wondering, this is what Gangnam looks like — a pretty standard commercial section of town!
Believe it or not, it actually took us awhile to find a legit Korean restaurant amid all the international chains, chicken and beer bars, and coffee shops. At last, we sat down at Masizzim for some amazing beef short rib stew and steamed egg:
Thank you, Christine, for being such a gracious host!!!!!!
Day 52: Friday, November 30, 2012
Have you ever seen anyone so glad to be on a flight back home?! (We use the term “home” loosely here…)
